HardTime is the band that has a burden – that burden is to bring rock and roll back into the main stream. HardTime writes and performs original rock and roll music, and can play cover songs from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. They want people to not only hear the music, but create life experiences that ride along with the music. Music is about how you feel when you hear a song, and they want you to hear every phrase, every riff, and most importantly, every lyrical word.
The band has played gigs including local Thurston County Bars, private parties and weddings, playing mostly original copy-righted songs and cover material. Both Erick Carlson and Cory Holien had previous band tours throughout the West Coast in other bands Wide-Eyed Panic, Aggressor, Outlet, Mojo Filta, The Burnouts, and NovaDose.
The band owns a 5,800 watt Carvin PA system and all equipment. Set up takes approximately 1-1/2 hours if all of the PA equipment is needed by the venue.
Their influences stretch from coast to coast. Starting with Joe – a singer song writer style from the 70’s. While Randal loves punk, Cory and Erick are metal heads, and Dave, well he’s just all over the board.
Truth be told, every member of this band is all over the board and loves all types of music. The music they create can be described as simply complex. Now – lose yourself in the music.
